Launched in January 2003, the I Can Fly programme actively recruits Hong Kong students who show a passion for aviation and a commitment to community service. Thousands of students have graduated from the programme since its launch.
Cathay Pacific pilots and employee volunteers lead the I Can Fly members through a series of aviation and social service activities during the programme period. The young members are given the chance to visit various aviation facilities, go through aviation-related training, participate in team-building activities, and design and implement their own social service programmes for community groups.
At the end of the programme, selected members get the opportunity to take part in an overseas trip to further explore different aspects of aviation and interact with people from various cultures. A number of former I Can Fly participants have since taken up careers within the Hong Kong aviation industry.
The programme has been adopted by many of the airline’s local teams – in mainland China, Canada, the USA and Thailand, for example – to nurture an enthusiasm for aviation among young people around the world.
糅合航空教育與社會服務概念，讓青少年追尋夢想，勇敢高飛。
「飛躍理想計劃」於2003年1月首辦，招募對航空業充滿熱誠、熱心社區服務的香港學生，至今已有超過數千名學員完成計劃。
學員在國泰機師及員工領袖帶領下，參與連串航空活動及社區服務。他們有機會參觀航空設施、參加課堂培訓、團隊建構活動，並透過設計及實踐社會服務計劃。
最後，學員更有機會參與海外旅程，進一步從不同角度認識航空業及進行文化交流。部分畢業學員今日已晉身為香港航空業的一份子。
這個計劃亦於多個地區舉辦，包括中國內地、加拿大、美國以及泰國等，以培育世界各地熱愛航空業的年青人。

Aviation training and visits will take place during weekends, with a combination of half-day and full-day sessions.
The meeting dates and times for the social service programme will be arranged and confirmed by the team leaders and members.
The 5-day to 7-day overseas incentive trip will take place in July or August 2019.
Details will be communicated shortly to the participants who have been successfully recruited.

1. Short Essay
To select ideal candidates to join the I Can Fly programme, we would like to learn more about you. You may get yourself prepared for the following questions in advance:
a. Why are you interested in the I Can Fly programme? (a maximum of 200 words in English)
b. What was the biggest challenge you have ever faced and how did you overcome it? (a maximum of 200 words in English)
2. Experience
Please share with us some of your previous experiences regarding the following aspects in the past two years:

b. Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)

School Nomination
To be eligible to join this programme, every applicant is required to be nominated by his/her school. Each school can nominate up to 10 students. Your application will only be considered after we have received the school nomination form which has to be submitted on or before 13 January 2019.

Completed school nomination form can be submitted through the following channels:
- Upload via the link provided in the online application form; or
- Email to icanfly@cathaypacific.com; or
- Post to Corporate Affairs Department, Cathay Pacific Airways Limited, Cathay Pacific City, 8 Scenic Road, Hong Kong International Airport, Lantau, New Territories. Please specify “I Can Fly Programme 2019 Application” on the envelope. (The postmark date will be regarded as the date of submission. No nomination form will be accepted after the deadline for application.)
