香港工程師學會將於2019年4日13日舉辦「工程師體驗巡禮」，活動包括比賽、展覽攤位、工程講座及工程實驗示範。當中的「STEM方案設計比賽」，旨在鼓勵中學同學們從生活中找出各種各樣的挑戰，並利用STEM (科學、科技、工程及數學)知識解決有關問題。決賽將於「工程師體驗巡禮」當日舉行。
The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) is organising the HKIE Engineer Day on Saturday, 13 April 2019 at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). The Event consists of competitions, game booths, lab demonstrations and lectures.
The STEM Product Proposal and Design Competition aims to encourage secondary school students to identify the challenges in their daily lives, utilise their creativity and innovative spirit, and solve the problem with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) knowledge. The Final of the Competition will be held at the HKIE Engineer Day.

活動細則
參賽隊伍可就下列其中一項挑戰提出可行的設計方案-
- STEM相關的生活挑戰
- 發展智慧城市的提案
每組參賽隊伍須首先提交一張不大於A1(JPEG)的海報或以不多於200字(中文或英文)介紹其方案作初選。評審團會選出入圍隊伍進入決賽，學會將安排工程師為每組參賽隊伍提供專業意見，協助同學們完善設計方案。入圍隊伍可根據實際需要，自由製作不大於0.5米(長) X 0.5米(闊) X 0.5米(高)的模型，並於「工程師體驗巡禮」當日展覽及介紹其方案，由評審團選出優勝隊伍。
香港工程師學會將以實報實銷的形式資助入圍隊伍製作模型之費用，上限為港幣五百元正。學校／同學必須保留單據以茲證明。有關比賽及展覽之詳情將會在簡介會上公布，香港工程師學會將會個別通知獲決賽參賽資格之學校。
Details of the Competition
Each team can select a study topic based on the following challenges and propose a feasible engineering solution to overcome the challenge.
- A challenge in daily living related to STEM
- A proposal to develop Hong Kong into a smart city
Each team should first submit a poster (A1 size in JPEG format) or written proposal within 200 words (in Chinese or English) to introduce the STEM proposal for the Heat. The Judging Panel will shortlist outstanding STEM proposals to enter the Final Competition. The HKIE will then assign an engineering professional for each team entering the Final to act as a facilitator and to provide professional advice. All shortlisted teams could build a model within the size of 0.5m (L) x 0.5m (W) x 0.5m (H) to showcase their concept during the Final Competition.
The HKIE will reimburse each team for any expenses towards the model building (up to a maximum of HK$500 per team). All original receipts must be submitted for reimbursement. Further details regarding the Competition will be presented during the Kick-off Ceremony. Each team entering the Final Competition will be notified by email.
比賽條款
- 參賽費用全免。
- 參賽作品的版權屬參賽者所有，惟參賽隊伍一經提交參賽作品，即同意香港工程師學會(主辦機構)可以在任何活動中宣傳、展覽、刊登、出版、使用、複製及派發其參賽作品而毋須徵求參賽者同意或支付任何費用。
- 參賽隊員若被主辦機構安排出席相關之媒體活動，有關採訪過程中的錄音、錄像、文字及其他形式的記錄等，版權均為主辦機構所有。
- 得獎參賽隊員同意主辦機構公布其姓名，就讀年級及所屬學校，作展覽、宣傳及推廣之用。
- 主辦機構有權決定取消、修改或暫停比賽，毋須另行通知。
- 主辦機構保留是次比賽一切事宜之最終決定權。
- 報名表格一經提交，即表示參賽隊伍完全同意並遵守以上參賽條款及細則。
- 負責籌備是次比賽的工作人員（包括評審團成員）及其親屬不得參賽。
Rules of the Competition
- Free application.
- The copyright of the entry is owned by the participating teams. However, once the entry has been submitted, the HKIE (the Organiser) has the right to promote, display, publish, copy and distribute the submitted entry in any event without further approval or cost implications.
- If there are any media activities arranged by the Organiser, the copyrights of the related recordings, videos, texts and other forms of record are belongs to the Organiser.
- The members of the award-winning teams agree the Organiser to release their name, grade level and their respective schools for exhibition and publicity purpose.
- The Organiser reserves the right to cancel, modify or suspend the Competition without further notice.
- The Organiser reserves the right to make final decision of the Competition.
- Once the application form has been submitted, it represents the participant’s understanding, acceptance and willingness to comply with the terms and conditions for the Competition.
- Staff of the Organiser (including the Judging Panel) and their relatives are not allowed to participate in this Competition.
評審準則
評審團將由香港工程師學會的代表及其委任的人士組成，並就方案的內容、創意、設計、可行性及發展潛力進行綜合評分。
Selection Criteria
The Panel of Judges will comprise representatives and invited guests from the HKIE. The winning teams will be selected based on content, creativity, design, and the technical feasibility of the model.
