Jockey Club ‘Multicultural Leaders of the World’ Programme [賽馬會多元文化世心領袖計劃 (www.wedoglobal.com/zh-TW/trips/program-details)] organized by WEDO GLOBAL Foundation and fully funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.
Students will take part in design thinking bootcamp and community learning experience to form a cross-ethnic team using innovative ideas and join a video competition themed “multicultural Hong Kong”. It enables students to enhance their confidence and personal understanding, cross-cultural teamwork, problem solving skills, a sense of community involvement and positive contribution.
Furthermore, selected teams in stage 2 will have the opportunity to join a 5 days 4 nights Singapore learning tour (free of charge). Students will learn how to construct a multicultural city and enhance their sense of global citizenship, global and cultural exposure through exploration and experience to understand more about the local social issues, solution for tackling those issues, Cultural intelligence (CQ), best practices on multicultural policies, as well as developing the global network. Students will be attending short course and visit the campus at the renowned University in Singapore (NUS/ NTU) as well as innovative companies (Facebook Headquarter in Asia/ Social Enterprises) and Multicultural communities.
Last but not least, participants will co-organize the closing ceremony to share their learning experience and outcome with people from Government, Corporate, Community, School, family and their peers. They will also share how to promote a multi-cultural and harmonious Hong Kong. Besides, outstanding participants will be given the opportunity and resources to execute their innovative ideas at school or community to introduce multi-culture and foster a harmonious community.
The programme is not focusing on the academic performance of the students, but mainly target those who have strong willingness and attitude to improve themselves and be Multicultural leaders of Hong Kong in the near future. Furthermore, they will have the opportunity to become the Cultural Ambassadors, a paid position at WEDO GLOBAL, to enhance the cultural integration as well as the diversity and inclusion at campus and community.

WEDO GLOBAL Foundation is a non-profit organization advocating multicultural education. Jockey Club ‘Multicultural Leaders of the World’ Programme aims to increase the understanding and practice of Cultural Intelligence (CQ), foster the understanding and collaboration among Chinese and non-Chinese youths, and empower participants’ skills development, community involvement, global and cultural exposure, as well as increasing their awareness of social harmony in order to construct a multicultural harmonious Hong Kong society.

Duration: Feb – Dec 2020 (Activities will mainly be held in non-consecutive weekends/ public holidays)
Target: F.3 – F.5 secondary school students (Chinese and non-Chinese students are welcome to join)

Remarks:
– You will receive a confirmation email that the organization has received your application within 5 working days after your application.
– Phone interview will be arranged through e-mail. Please make sure you provide a valid email address.
– Please submit your video (1-2 minutes including self-introduction and anything about this Programme and multi-culture) through Google link or Youtube link.
– Successful applicants will receive the e-mail of stage 2 details in late January 2020.
