原「齒」創作 Secondary School Video Competition 2021

Information sheet for applicants
Competition details:
- Time limit of the video: Under 4 minutes
- Number of participants per video entry: 1-4 (Individual/ Group)
- Target participants: Secondary 1-6 Students
- Target audience of the videos: General Public
- Language: English/ Cantonese
- Topic: Dental Caries (May include but not limited to oral hygiene, causes of dental caries, signs and symptoms of dental caries, common misconceptions, prevention of dental caries, etc.)
- Format: Free (Can consider mini dramas, interviews, powerpoint presentations, etc.)
- Judges: Dr. Stanley Lai (Assistant Dean, Undergraduate Education, Principal Clinical Practitioner in Periodontology) & Dr. Peter Tsang (Clinical Dental Instructor in Cariology)

Assessment criteria:
- 40% Content
- The information delivered from the video should be accurate and precise
- There should not be any major conceptual mistakes
- 30% Creativity
- Participants that deliver their videos in an interesting way will be awarded high marks in this category
- 30% Technique and Presentation
- Participants with good video editing skills, added suitable sound effects and subtitles will be awarded high marks in this category
Awards:
Champion: Certificate (per person) + $1000 cheque (per group) + Oral B Premium Electric toothbrush (per person)
1st Runner-up: Certificate (per person) + $600 cheque (per group)
2nd Runner-up: Certificate (per person) + $400 cheque (per group)
Most-popular Award: Certificate (per person)
Merit Award (4th-8th): Certificate of Merit (per person)
Other participants: Certificate of participation (per person)
All participants that attend the prize presentation will receive a souvenir pack.
- Most-popular Award
- The top 8 entries will be posted onto the Smile Campaign Instagram @smile campaign _dphc and Facebook page @笑容從齒美 Smile Campaign for counting the number of ‘likes’.
- The cut-off date of accumulating the number of ‘likes’ will be 14 days after posting.
- The number of ‘likes’ of each video on Instagram and Facebook will be added up as a total.
- The participant/ group with the highest total number of ‘likes’ will be given the Most-popular award.
Announcement of results:
- The number of “likes” for the top 8 participants’ videos will be posted on the Smile Campaign Facebook and Instagram page after counting
- 1st, 2nd, 3rd and the Most Popular Award will be announced on the Smile Campaign Instagram and Facebook Page
- Email confirmation will be sent to the winners

Application method:
- Please fill in the google application form (https://forms.gle/2eSz3NtfxW5Y94x68)
- *One google form per group*
- A confirmation email with your group number will be provided within one week after online application.
Open for application: 1st February, 2021
Application deadline: 31st March, 2021
Deadline for submitting videos: 30th April, 2021
Method for submitting videos:
- Please upload your video to google drive and send us the link by email to dphc2021@gmail.com
- * Please also make sure that you have changed the privacy setting of your video to allow us to view it.*
Requirements:
- Please include a 3 second clip showing the name(s) of participants, group number and school at the beginning of the video
- Please include 3 second clip showing the reference list at the end of the video
** These sections should not count towards the <4 minute duration of the main video**
- Please rename the video as ‘Group number_Group Representative Name’, for example ‘Group 12_Chan Tai Man’
Originality:
- You may use any tool or format, but the submitted work should be of your own. You may include clips from other sources, but you must cite them in the reference list.
