Summer STEM Activities 2025 – CityUHK’s Bright Future Engineering Talent Hub

The Bright Future Engineering Talent Hub, jointly established by the College of Engineering, City University of Hong Kong and the Bright Future Charitable Foundation, aims to foster STEM education and nurture young talent for the engineering industry.

Summer Activities

STEM Challenge
STEM Challenge is a project-based competition where secondary school students team up to study a specific engineering topic. Under the supervision of CityUHK’s academic staff and the facilitation of student mentors, the activity aims to develop students’ active learning attitudes and critical thinking skills.

Summer Research Internship
The 2-4 weeks long research internship provides an opportunity for secondary school students to undertake engineering-related research of their interest at CityUHK during summer under the supervision of a faculty member and PhD students.

STEM Carnival cum Student project Exhibition
The STEM Carnival cum Student Project Exhibition is an important event in our college. A broad spectrum of student and staff research projects with daily life applications will be showcased throughout the three-day event. In addition, there will also be STEM workshops and guided laboratory tours for secondary and primary school students.

Teachers Update Courses
Seminars & workshops to provide a useful platform for secondary school teachers to explore the latest subject knowledge and pedagogy. To offer an opportunity for faculty members to better understand the educational needs of secondary school students.

Engineering = Innovation x Entrepreneurship
A series of talks and seminars to facilitate parents’ understanding of future career opportunities for their next generation.

Collaborative Activities with Engineering Societies
Collaborative activities to promote exchange between academia and industry through the organisation of joint activities with professional engineering bodies.

STEM Workshop
A wide range of STEM workshops for secondary and primary school students aims to broaden their horizons and introduce them to new experiences.
