PolyU first launched the ‘Summer Institute’ in 2023 for high school students in Hong Kong, and extended to both local and overseas high school students in 2024. Over the years, there were 460+ students participated in the event. We are excited to invite your students to the PolyU Summer Institute this year, taking place from July to August 2025. The Summer Institute is open to both local and overseas high school students in secondary 4 and 5 or equivalent, bringing together global youth to experience university life.

理大於2023年首次推出「暑期學院」供香港中學生參加，並於2024年擴展至本地及海外中學生。多年來，有超過460名學生參與了這項活動。我們非常高興邀請貴校學生參加今年的理大暑期學院，活動將於2025年7月至8月舉行。暑期學院開放給中四和中五或同等級別的本地及海外中學生，匯聚全球青少年體驗大學生活。

 

The Summer Institute includes:

• Residential Camp (21 to 25 July 2025): This five-day, four-night residential camp is a compulsory part of the Summer Institute. Students will stay in our Student Halls of Residence, participate in activities led by PolyU mentors, attend mini-lectures, visit companies, and make new friends from around the world.
• 住宅營（2025年7月21日至25日）：為期五天四夜的住宅營是暑期學院的必修部分。學生將入住理大學生宿舍，參加由理大導師帶領的活動，參加迷你講座，參訪企業，並結交來自世界各地的新朋友。
• Credit-Bearing Course (28 July to 1 August 2025): This five-day course on Innovation and Entrepreneurship is an optional add-on component. It provides hands-on learning and insights into university-level academics. Successful completion may allow for credit transfer upon admission to PolyU.
• 學分課程（2025年7月28日至8月1日）：這是一個為期五天的創新與創業課程，作為可選的附加部分。課程提供動手學習和大學學術課題的見解。成功完成課程後，入讀理大時可能可申請學分轉移。

 

We offer a Principal’s Nomination Sponsorship for students nominated by their principals who successfully completing the credit-bearing course and meeting the course requirements. Students currently receiving financial support from the HKSAR government will pay only half of the programme fee.

我們為校長提名並成功完成學分課程並符合課程要求的學生提供校長提名贊助。目前接受香港特區政府財政支持的學生只需支付一半的課程費用。

 

Applications are open until 31 March 2025 (for students taking the credit-bearing course) and until 30 May 2025 (for students participating in the residential camp only). A 10% discount is available for early bird applications submitted by 7 March 2025.

During the camp, students will get a chance to experience:

Residential hall life – Stay in our Student Halls of Residence (Hung Hom) (twin-sharing with participants of the same gender) and experience hall life led by our student mentors.

Day-long attachment programmes – Attach to two of PolyU’s Faculties/ Schools to gain first-hand insights for making informed choices for future studies. You may check out the details here

Signature mini-lectures – Understand PolyU’s focus on Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics (AIDA), and Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IE) and attend lectures “AI Fundamentals and Applications” and “Entrepreneurial Mindset – The Key to Staying Competitive Amidst AI and Rapid Change”. Company visits – Have a taste of PolyU’s strong industrial connections by visiting different companies, and learning more about the career prospects of different programmes.

Meet new friends – Meet friends from Hong Kong, Mainland China, and overseas, and experience the university’s diversity. On top of that, try out campus food outlets (all meals are included) and participants will receive a certificate of attendance upon completion of the camp.

學員在營期內將體驗以下內容：

Participants can opt to attend a 5-day credit-bearing course (40 quotas) as part of the PolyU Summer Institute to test their academic abilities in a university setting. The course will run from 28 July to 1 August 2025 (Monday to Friday), offering participants hands-on visits and an understanding of the latest industrial trends. Additionally, they will gain first-hand insights into university-level expectations and resources, perfect for participants transitioning from secondary to tertiary education.

Course Title: Introduction to Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IE) (1 Credit)

Objectives: This course introduces students to the key elements of innovation and entrepreneurship in a digital world. It aims to equip students with an entrepreneurial mindset and help them apply innovative strategies to devise creative solutions that benefit both organizations and society during this era of digital transformation.

Assessment: In-class quizzes, assignments, and attendance will all be considered when determining final grades. Upon completion of the credit-bearing course, students will receive a transcript of their studies. Additionally, a certificate of attendance will be awarded to students who complete the course with over 75% attendance.

Upon successful completion, participants will get one credit, which is transferrable upon admission to PolyU. Hall residency (no meals) will be included for non-local participants only during the credit-bearing course.

參加者可以選擇參加為期5天的學分課程（名額40個），作為理大暑期學院的一部分，以測試他們在大學環境中的學術能力。該課程將於2025年7月28日至8月1日（星期一至星期五）舉行，為參加者提供實地參觀和對最新行業趨勢的了解。此外，他們將深入了解大學級別的期望和資源，這對於從中學到高等教育過渡的參加者來說是完美的。

課程名稱：創新與創業導論（IE）（1學分）

目標：本課程介紹數字化世界中的創新與創業的關鍵要素，旨在培養學生的創業思維，並幫助他們應用創新策略來制定對組織和社會有益的創造性解決方案，以應對數字轉型時代。

評估：將根據課堂小測驗、作業和出勤率來決定最終成績。完成學分課程後，學生將獲得學業成績單。此外，出勤率超過75％的學生將獲得出席證書。

成功完成課程後，參加者將獲得一個學分，入讀理大時可轉換學分。非本地參加者在學分課程期間將獲得宿舍住宿（不含餐）。
